Facilitate manual work for flooring installation, woodworking and tile laying. ShapeMeasure's ambition is to transform what used to be exceptional craftsmanship into a simple task accessible to all. In just a few months since its launch, the Vancouver-based company has successfully developed a prototype and integrated the Shenzhen Hardware Accelerator (HAX).

With his experience in mechanical engineering, Ben Blumer has developed an intelligent tool that allows all the necessary measurements to be taken, with a simple push of a button, using the LIDAR (laser remote sensing) technology already used by autonomous cars. The measurements are then sent directly to the supplier, who cuts the boards according to the information received and ships them, ready for installation, to the contractor. The process is the same whether it is wood, PVC or laminate.

With ShapeMeasure, it takes only 15 seconds to measure a stair step with an accuracy of 1 mm. The tool offers two revolutionary advances for the sector: it reduces labour costs by 80% and construction time by 50%!
