Smart wine aerator
How long does a wine need to be aereated? Is it the same for white as for red wine? Many consumers are unaware of this and skip this step due to lack of knowledge. However, it plays an essential role in wine tasting. "Our product is the result of long research," says Nicolas Naigeon, co-founder of Aveine. We have registered a patent on our control of the size of the air bubbles and the quantity injected into the aeration chamber according to the desired oxygenation. Our technology thus makes it possible to accelerate the aeration of the wine while guaranteeing that it can be drunk in its best expression".
Thanks to this first digital wine aerator, it is no longer necessary to be an outstanding oenologist to improve the taste of the wine you wish to serve. The invention was born in 2016 from the collaboration of three childhood friends: Nicolas Naigeon, Matthieu Robert and Miranda Delmotte. They have developed an smart wine aerator, connected to an application. Its use is simple: the aerator is placed on the open bottle and the label is scanned. When pouring the wine, the aerator automatically adapts the ideal aeration time, on a scale from 30 minutes to 24 hours, according to the recommendation proposed by the application. 10,000 wines are listed in the database. Some of them came directly from the winegrowers. And if the wine is not present in the database, the user can integrate it himself by indicating the aeration he likes.
Free of charge, the application also offers sommelier tips, food and wine pairings and recommendations.
The startup benefits from the influence of 45 "ambassadors" including renown French starred restaurants (Park Hyatt Vendôme Paris, l'Assiette Champenoise, Yannick Alleno - Pavillon Ledoyen,...) and owners of beautiful vineyards (Château La Tour Carnet, Château Fombrauge, Berliquet, Gigognan...).
60% of sales come from international markets, including 26% from the United States (the world's largest wine market, with an accessories sector worth 350 million euros).
Aveine has chosen a premium positioning: luxurious design and packaging, selling price of €449 in France and $549 internationally.
